We would like to thank you all for the great interest shown in our web page.
Unfortunately we are deeply sorry to inform you that the event cannot take place due to the severe economic crisis. This has not
allowed the Municipality of Turin to allocate the resources needed for all the cultural initiatives envisaged on the occasion of the Universal Exposition EXPO 2015 and has made nearly impossible to rely mainly on private sponsors.
The limited amount made available by the Municipality of Turin to finance the performance, as based on their priorities, does not allow our Association (Italian Military Tattoo) to organize the Italian Military Tattoo for 2015. Such a decision has been duly communicated to our local administrative authorities. We sincerely hope that a new impulse to economic recovery will be provided, which would allow us to try again in 2016.
Should there be any change in the above decision which might eventually result in a reviewed/limited performance for 2015, both as to the number of shows and performers taking part to it, we will let you know.

LES FESTIVALS DES FANFARES MILITAIRES EN EUROPE

Chaque année, deux grands festivals de Fanfares militaires en costumes historiques sont organisés, en Juillet à Bâle et en Août, à Édimbourg. Lors de ces manifestations, d’autres groupes militaires exécutent des carrousels, compétitions de canons, chants, danses, parades.
Ces deux évènements attirent un très grand public et de nombreux médias et depuis des années obtiennent un énorme succès.
Les manifestations sont aussi retransmises, avec une excellente audience, par la plupart des chaînes de télévision nationales et internationales.

LE TATTOO TERME

Le mot tattoo date du XVII siècle, quand les unités de l’Armée britannique furent affectées aux Pays-Bas. Le soir, les tambours des garnisons étaient envoyés dans les villes pour donner le signal de rentrée en caserne aux soldats en quartier libre, connu sous le nom de "ferme le robinet", qui invitait les aubergistes à ne plus servir à boire aux militaires.
